EC appointed Mauro Ferrari as new President for ERC

On 14 May, the European Commission appointed Mauro Ferrari as the new President for European Research Council (ERC), as of 1 January 2020. Professor Ferrari will replace the current President Jean-Pierre Bourguignon. Throughout his carreer, Prof. Mauro Ferrari contributed to multiple fields including mathematics, engineering, medicine and biology, and helped pioneer the field of nanomedicine. As ERC President, he will be the formal representative of the ERC and will chair its governing body, the Scientific Council, which defines the scientific funding strategy and methodologies of the ERC.   More information
