EC launched a Call for European Clusters Expert Group – deadline 29 July

On 21 June, the European Commission launched a Call for applications for the selection of Members of the Commission Expert group on Clusters (“European Clusters expert group”). The group aims at providing recommendations, advice, and expertise to the EC on how to better use clusters as a strategic tool of industrial policy, interregional collaboration and for integrating SMEs into EU and global value chains.   The group shall consist of a maximum of 38 members. The composition of the group will be as follows:
  1. Member States’ authorities at national, regional or local level (Type D members) – up to 28 members.
  2. Individuals appointed in a personal capacity (Type A members) – up to 10 members.
  These should be cluster managers and other practitioners from SME intermediaries and business support organisations, businesses including social enterprises, investors, academics, consultants, staff from regional or local public authorities or innovation agencies and other relevant experts.   Deadline for applications: 29 July.   More information Rules of procedure
