EP adopts plan to keep 2020 EU funding for UK in case of no-deal Brexit scenario

On 22 October at its plenary session in Strasbourg, the European Parliament (EP) adopted a draft regulation, extending the contingency plan to 2020 in case of no-deal Brexit scenario, which was previously limited to 2019. This draft regulation includes programmes, such as Horizon 2020, Erasmus+ and agriculture and regional policies, aiming at minimising any negative impact that the UK’s withdrawal may have on beneficiaries of EU funding and on the EU budget. The proposal would allow the continuity of payments to UK beneficiaries throughout 2020, provided the UK continues to pay its contributions and accepts the necessary controls and audits.   More information
